Suggestions for protein and moisturizing conditioners

I didn't want to make my last post about protein and moisturizing conditioners too long so I decided to break it into two. Here are some suggestions adapted from Hairlista's favorite conditioners. I've added some of my own suggestions too.

      Moisturizing conditioners

1. Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol
2. KeraCare Humecto
3. Lustrasilk Shea Butter  and Mango Cholesterol (I've also used this conditioner at the beginning of my hair journey. It's okay but I don't think it might made my hair as soft as I would like it to be. I hear good stuff about it though and I might revisit it one day!)
4. Africa's Best Organics Olive Oil Deep Conditioner
5. Silk Elements Mega Silk Moisturizing Treatment
6. Creme of Nature Nourishing & Strengthening Treatment
7. Pantene Relaxed and Nature Breakage Defense Mask
8. Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner
9. Queen Helen Cholesterol Conditioner
10. Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm

11. Kenra Moisturizing conditioner (My favorite deep conditioner: I keep going back to it!)
12. Aubrey Organics White Camellia (I also used it in the beginning of my hair journey. It's okay but a bit too thick)
13. Dark and Lovely Ultra Cholesterol conditioning mask
14. Global Choice Positive Conditioner (I just rediscovered this product and I think it's competing with my darling Kenra!)
15. Organics cholesterol tea-tree oil (This is another very nice conditioner!)

     Light protein conditioners

1. Aphogee 2 min Reconstructor
2. Organic Root Stimulator Replenishing Conditioner/Pak
3. Aphogee Two-step Treatment
4. Motions CPR Conditioner
5. Joico KPAK Reconstruct Conditioner
6. Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayonnaise
7. Eggs, Conditioner, and Oil mixed together
8. Lekair Cholesterol
9. Mane N Tail Original Conditioner
10. Vital Hair Mayo

11. Aubrey organics swimmers conditioner (This is a really nice protein conditioner. Of all the Aubrey organics products I used, I think I like this the best!)
12. Aubrey organics glycogen protein balancing conditioner

     Moderate to heavy proteins

1. Dudleys DRC
2. Nexxus Emergencee- used the old way
3. Joico  K-pak
Deep Penetrating Reconstructor
4. Aphogee Treatment for damaged hair
5. Loreal Hair Repair kit

6. Nature's gentle touch deep conditioning cholesterol treatment

*Always follow moderate to heavy protein conditioners with a good moisturizing conditioner!

I hope this post has helped someone out there to make a choice. Remember to use only LIGHT PROTEIN CONDITIONERS weekly. If you want to use moderate to heavy protein conditioners, use them once a month or even once in two months.

Hi! I absolutely adore your blog :) Would you consider Pantene Beautiful Lengths Deep Conditioner a moisturizing or light/heavy protein deep conditioner. It has the ingredients of a moisturizing conditioner but it makes my hair feel hard and doesn't give it nearly enough slip. Thanks for your time!

Awww Lexie, thanks so much for the compliment! Pantene is a moisturizing conditioner and has no protein in its ingredient list. I'm surprised it doesn't give you enough slip because that's one conditioner that gave me wonderful slip. I'm not using it much these days only because I think it was making my hair break. (I've not confirmed this yet though).
You might want to try Keracare humecto: it's also a moisturizing conditioner. The only downside is that it contains mineral oil. If that doesn't bother you, you could try it.
